Child Carers/Nannies

We at Abracadabra understand the importance of having peace of mind when it comes to employing someone in your home. With this principal as the basis of our business, we have implemented a stringent set of guidelines and interview procedures to ensure that only the highest quality candidates available are selected.

The benefits of engaging an ABRACADABRA professional include:

  • Are reliable, honest and trustworthy, have at least 1 years experience
  • Have undertaken Police Clearance Checks, and have current First Aid and Working With Children’s Card, which is mandatory for childcare related work.
  • 2 references and proof of experience in ChildCare, verified by the agency
  • Have their own cars & mobile phone.
  • Have attained Certificate 11 or III in Children’s Services
  • We also offer/provide ongoing training to all Abracadabra carers

The advantages of In-Home Childcare are:

  • More flexibility in your child’s activities and development.
  • Your children will not be disturbed by a change of an environment or routine.
  • Siblings can stay together.
  • An important one to one relationship can be established between the nanny and your children.
  • Working arrangements for busy parents can be completely flexible to suit their needs.

Evening Babysitters

This service can guarantee the same assurance and quality of care as our Nanny/Carer service. Upon your request for a sitter Abracadabra will endeavour to place you with a sitter that most suits your needs at the time. Bookings for sitters can be made as late as the morning of the sit, although it is advised to give at least one days notice to ensure your requirements are fulfilled to the best of our ability.

The babysitter's duties include reading and playing appropriate games with you children. Where relevant, change of nappies and bottles will also be given. If you wish the babysitter to carry out the duties of Child Carers/Nannies (i.e. prepare meals and bath children) the client will be charged an hourly Nanny/Carer rate accordingly until normal babysitting duties are resumed.

Babysitting is conducted in your own home and additional charges apply when combining two families, although a maximum of four children will only be accepted per assignment.

There is a minimum of three hours Monday - Thursday and four hours on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. ChildCare Government Benefit can apply where eligible

Clients are also reminded that late cancellation (less than 24 hours notice) of their booking incurs a fee.

Babysitting normally applies to childcare of an evening on a casual or regular basis.
